Bargainist Gift Guide: Day of the Dead
Day of the Dead is a national holiday in Mexico where people take time to remember and pray for those who have passed on. It falls on November 1 and 2—two days devoted to honoring the deceased. Depending on where you are that can be done in different ways. In Arizona there is an annual procession of people wearing masks and carrying signs remembering the dead. In Guatemala giant kites are built and flown. And in Ecuador there are gatherings at community cemeteries. But like most holidays, Day of the Dead can also be celebrated with gifts.
